Blog at Subdomain or Subfolder?

Should I host my blog at a subdomain or a subfolder?

If the blog’s subject matter is the same as that of the main site, it’s actually preferable to use a sub-folder.

But if the blog is essentially separate from the main site, and deals with different content, a sub-domain is good. Because your blog will still count in some way towards your main site, but cannot sully it with mixed messages about theme.

Essentially, using blogging software such as Wordpress gives you huge benefits – all you need to do is figure out how the blog can be best used.
